Whilst most of the exhibits sent to us for examination can be safely sent to us by post or courier, or sometimes email, there are some items which for reasons of security, sensitivity or practicality need to be examined at the offices of the client.
Such items might include recordings involving sensitive matters of business intelligence, national security or personal identity or safety, or may be original exhibits. Or, they may simply be fragile, compromised, large, bulky or rack-mounted devices which cannot easily or safely be moved or which are required for day-to-day operations. We can use our own equipment (laptops) or can temporarily install the necessary programmes onto the client's computer if required. If using our own laptop or notebook we can, if requested, use a dedicated or separate drive which can be erased or destroyed once the examination and analysis is completed.
In most cases we can arrange for someone to travel to the client to carry out the work on-site. This can often be done at very short notice.
Costs: As well as the normal fees, the client will be responsible for all travel and accommodation (if required) costs, including air travel if necessary from either Melbourne (MEL) or Birmingham (BHX) airport.
